This is essentially a new tracker organ in an Estey case, using parts of the Estey organ including large bellows, Pedal chests, keyboards and Swell box.
History
The organ was built for the Free Baptist Church of Contoocook, NH in 1907 and contained 7 stops on two manuals and pedal. In 2001 the organ was bought by J. Cooper of Epsom, NH, who set out to built a new tracker organ inside the case. He constructed two new wind chests for Swell and Great and made a new mechanical back fall action for the Great. The pneumatic pedal action was going to be restored and used.
No pipes have been racked yet and the Swell action has to be made new. The stop list is customizable within the limits set by the layout of the wind chests. The instrument was acquired by us in 2021.
The construction of the new parts is sound; the warranty we provide for this instrument will be the same as for a completely new organ.
Specifications
The footprint of the case is approximately 8' wide by 42" deep. Allow another 42" of depth for the pedal board and pedal bench. Height: posts are less than 10' high; pipe tops will fit under 11' if needed. Two feet of space should preferably be left behind the organ for more convenient tuning access.
